Online Multiplayer & Matchmaking

2026-08-13

Machine Party supports online co-op for the confirmed 2–4 player range. The part that surprises most people is how you find the other three players.

Does Machine Party have online multiplayer?

Yes. Online co-op is supported, and the group plays together over the network in the same 2–4 player format as local sessions.

No in-game matchmaking

The base game does not include in-game public matchmaking or a public lobby list. In practice this means:

  • You cannot press "find game" and get matched with strangers.
  • You need to arrive with a group already assembled.
  • The players you add are invited into your session rather than found by the game.

How to find a party

Because the game will not find players for you, your options are:

  1. Friend lists — the most reliable path; invite people you already play with.
  2. Community hubs — use a game-specific community channel to arrange sessions.
  3. Discord servers — schedule a fixed night with a recurring group.

Current status

Online co-op itself is confirmed. The absence of matchmaking is a design decision, not a bug — so plan your session outside the game first, then start it together.
